Dear research cloud users,
Due to the change in routing method and automation, the network switches need to be migrated to the new routing method. During the change, each network fabric will be interrupted for about 30 seconds.
Date: 28th November 2018
Time: 10:00am to 16:00pm
Impact:
Approximately 30 seconds interruption to the fabrics;
- monash-02
- monash-03
- Research data storage cluster at Monash (Market storage)
During the change, the connectivity to the instances and services may be interrupted approximately 30 seconds.
All OpenStack management operations (such as making snapshots, rebooting instances, deleting instances and attach/detach of volumes) will be suspended and resume once the network is back online.
Action
Whilst no impact to data stored on research cloud servers is expected, we recommend users ensure all backups are up-to-date. If you have particular concerns regarding how this outage might impact your services running atop the research cloud then please contact research cloud support as soon as possible so that we can plan an alternate strategy for the relevant instances.
