Users of the NCI NeCTAR node are advised that scheduled maintenance work is taking place on the 2nd of January 2019, between the hours of 8am and 6pm. No work is scheduled to happen to the NCI NeCTAR node itself, but regular maintenance work will be done on NCI network infrastructure which may result in a number of brief network outages during the maintenance window.
Any outages will be on the order of a minute or two, and should not directly affect any instances running on the NCI NeCTAR node. However, users with active ssh sessions or who are otherwise accessing an instance during an outage may experience connection delays or dropped ssh connections - these are expected results of brief network outages, and users should attempt to reconnect after waiting a few minutes. If subsequent reconnection attempts fail users are advised to contact the NeCTAR help desk for assistance by emailing email@example.com or visiting https://support.ehelp.edu.au.
