The Nodes provide a range of data storage products for researchers in Australia. Different storage products can be appropriate for different phases in the lifecycle of your dataset.
This table provides a summary of the different data storage products, and links to the Node websites for further information.
|QRISdata - Frequent Access||Working||For datasets that are either changing or require frequent access. It is replicated daily with on and off site copies. Offered through NFS mounts, SSH-based protocols and Nextcloud (browser or file syncing). ||information|
|QCIF||QRISdata - Infrequent Access||Working||Datasets that are accessed less frequently are less volatile and are not being used for compute intensive work. It is replicated daily with on and off site copies. Offered through NFS mounts (with DMF), SSH-based protocols and Nextcloud (browser or file syncing).||information|
|QCIF||MeDiCi||Working||Provides an enhanced disk caching layer with tape storage to present the same data collection simultaneously to multiple services via local caches. Data is seamlessly replicated between local caches and the home cache. Offered through NFS mounts, SSH-based protocols, Nextcloud (browser or file syncing), Swift, S3, and CIFS.||information|

Archival storage for datasets. Data may be held off-line. It is replicated regularly with on and off site copies.
|QCIF||QRIScompute - Volume Storage||Computational||High-speed disk storage that can be written and read like a physical computer’s hard drive. Volume storage is independent of VMs and can be attached to a single VM at a time for computation.||information|
